It has begun...

Yes...it has, indeed begun...

With the addition of eBay on my iPhone, I have now moved back into the cel collecting arena...first up is the above cel from Macross 7 of Mylene Jenius. She is the daughter of Max and Millia Jenius from the original Macross series and is a member of the rock band, "Fire Bomber".

I love the kind of cels that show the face and shoulders of a character. I find myself drawn to them.

I also picked up a cel of the Jewel Princess from the Shin Cutey Honey OVA...I love this series as it has a very dark feel yet it is quite goofy at the same time.

I also picked up some figures from the newly re-instated Marvel Legends line from the good folks at Hasbro. First up is Hope Summers.I like what they have done with the packaging as it has a rather cartoonish looking board. Another cool thing is that they, Hasbro, have gotten into the Build-a-figure business. You know, what made the Marvel Legends line in the first place (besides the awesomeness of the sculpts and the articulation) was the build-a-figure. When Hasbro moved away from it, they found that to be a huge mistake. Taking Hope out of her blister pack I found that she is much bigger than the initial Hasbro ML offerings. I mean, she is almost as tall as my 2-pack Cable figure and taller than both my Marvel Girls (Jean and Rachel)...keep in mind that she is supposed to be a teenager....

Overall, I really like what they are doing this time around. This is a solid figure of a character that I have grown to like a lot. I have since picked up both a Dark Wolverine (Dakken) and Phantomex...man these figures are coming out fast.

Now, for how happy I am about the ML line, I'm a little disappointed with the Marvel Universe 4" figure line's latest offering.
I just got the Storm and Psylocke figures lately and color me disappointed. First off, they have done away with the stands that have come with the toys for the last 3 or so waves and replaced them with "mini comic covers"...really??? Are you serious? Then there are the extra-long necks that they have given both of these X-fan favs...ugh...and here I thought that was just an isolated incident...(cough) Wolverine (cough)...

Oh, well...while I will continue to buy them for completists sake, they will not be making their way into my display cases for a while...besides, I'm more of a fan of the 6-inch lines anyway...
